Time for GOP Leadership

By Marion Algier – Ask Marion

The American people stood up in November 2014 to send a message to Washington… the message that they wanted change, they were against Amnesty, no matter what it is called, and they want ObamaCare overturned or at least fixed.  In the 2014 election the American voters gave Republicans a majority in both houses of Congress as well as many governorships and virtually decimated the Democrat party in the south.

So then what happened before Congress adjourned?  They, under Speaker John Boehner, funded ObamaCare through October of 2015 and funded enough of President Obama’s Illegal Executive Amnesty program to give it wings.  And then they headed on their Christmas break.

None of that should or needed to happen.  Knowing that the GOP would have a majority in both the House and Senate come January 2015, all they had to do was pass enough of a budget extension to keep the government from shutting down while they were on holiday.  The American people gave them a mandate and Speaker Boehner and his crew spit in their faces.

It is time for Boehner and his RINO pals to go!!  Virginia already began that process by unseating Cantor in Virginia in their primary last June, but there are others that need to go in both houses of Congress.

GOP Leadership to It's Base

Senator Marco Rubio, House Speaker John Boehner, Rep Paul Ryan and Senator John McCain

Directing his comments to current Speaker of the House, RINO John Boehner, Congressman Louie Gohmert (TX-01), appeared on FOX & Friends on Sunday morning and announced his candidacy for Speaker of the House. Florida Congressman Ted Yoho and a few others are also considering a run.

Louie Gohmert

Rep. Gohmert, a constitutional conservative and favorite with many within the pro-Constitution, pro-liberty Tea Party movement said:

“When you went to Obama and Pelosi to get your votes for the CRomnibus; You said you’d fight amnesty tooth-and-nail — you didn’t, you funded it. And then you took the only hostage that Obama would like for us to shoot. It was a terrible strategy and it follows a number of years of broken promises. it’s time for a change.”

Congressmen Thomas Massie (KY) and Jim Bridenstine had already indicated that they will not be supporting Boehner and the list is growing including Walter Jones (NC) and Steve King of Iowa. Thirty votes are needed to oust the RINO leader, who led the way in passing the 1,600 page CRomnibus spending bill that fully funded both Obamacare and Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty.

‘’We need a Speaker who will help us keep our oath, including his own, to the Constitution, not one who has consistently clocked our efforts to keep ours.  I will vote for an alternative candidate for Speaker.  I can’t vote for John Boehner again”  penned Congressman Steve King in an op-ed for Breitbart on Sunday.

A change in Speakers would make a huge difference in the effectiveness of the House of Representatives over the next two years. It is time for some real GOP leadership!

The vote for a new Speaker is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 1/6/15.

So it is time for all concerned Americans to get involved.  This is a battle that needs to be won or it could strengthen Boehner in the long run!  Please contact your representative and tell them to oust Boehner.  Voting is a must but not enough to turn the tide. You can find your representative’s contact information HERE.  And keep your representative’s information at hand.  There will be many more battles ahead!

About Ask Marion

I am a babyboomer and empty nester who savors every moment of my past and believes that it is the responsibility of each of us in my generation and Americans in general to make sure that America is as good or even a better place for future generations as it was for us. So far... we haven't done very well!! Favorite Quotes: "The first 50 years are to build and acquire; the second 50 are to leave your legacy"; "Do something that scares you every day!"; "The journey in between what you once were and who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place". At age 62 I find myself fighting inoperable uterine Cancer and thanks to the man upstairs and the prayers from so many people including many of my readers from AskMarion and JustOneMorePet... I'm beating it. After losing our business because of the economy and factors related to the re-election of President Obama in 2012 followed by 16-mos of job hunting, my architect-trained husband is working as a trucker and has only been home approximately 5-days a month since I was diagnosed, which has made everything more difficult and often lonely... plus funds are tight. Our family medical deductible is 12K per year for two of us; thank you ObamaCare. But thanks to donations from so many of you, we are making ends meet as I go through treatment while taking care of my father-in-law who is suffering from late stage Alzheimer's and my mother-in-law who suffers from RA and onset dementia as well as hearing loss, for which there are no caretaker funds, as I continue the fight here online to inform and help restore our amazing country. And finally I need to thank a core group of family, friends, and readers... all at a distance, who check in with me regularly. Plus, I must thank my furkids who have not left my side through this fight. You can see them at JustOneMorePet.
