GOP House Candidate Mia Love Impresses at Republican National Convention

Mia Love, mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah and GOP candidate for U.S. Congress, outperformed expectations in her speech at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, blasting President Obama for his “failed” policies and explaining why he isn’t the right candidate to protect the “American dream.”

She is hoping to become the first black GOP congresswoman, Fox News reports. Love is also a first-generation Haitian-American and a Mormon.

“Let em tell you about the America I know,” Love said. “My parents immigrated to this country with $10 in their pockets and the hope that the America they heard about really did exist.”

She explained that she was ingrained with a sense of personal responsibility at an early age by her parents, who taught her that great things can be achieved with hard work in America. That was the American dream, they told her.

“The America I now is grounded in the determination found in patriots and pioneers,” she continued. “It’s found in the Olympic athletes and every child who looks at the impossible and says, ‘I can do that.’ That’s the America I know.”

On President Obama, she said “his policies have failed us. We’re not better off than we were four years ago. And no rhetoric, bumper sticker or Hollywood campaign ad can change that.” At this line, the crowd erupted with applause.

Then she spoke directly to Obama: “Mr. President, I’m here to tell you the American people are awake and we’re not buying what you’re selling in 2012,” Love said to more applause.

“This is the America we know because we built it,” said Love.

Republican Mayor Mia Love, a triple x 2 whammy for Democrats and the ‘NOW’ types, is certainly a thorn in the Progressive left’s sides and their fake War on Woman! She is Republican, female, black, Christian (Mormon), straight, a mother, a mayor in Utah and gave a great day one speech at the GOP Convention in Tampa and the Progressive left pounced immediately:

UPDATE: After her success at the RNC Tuesday, Mia Love’s Wikipedia page was reportedly edited to call her a “dirty, worthless wh*re“ and a ”house ni**er.” (The latter is a term only used in the black community… never by white people!) Any guesses as to ‘edited by whom’?!? Sadly horrible and typical with the climate this administration and their media minions have set!

About Ask Marion

I am a babyboomer and empty nester who savors every moment of my past and believes that it is the responsibility of each of us in my generation and Americans in general to make sure that America is as good or even a better place for future generations as it was for us. So far... we haven't done very well!! Favorite Quotes: "The first 50 years are to build and acquire; the second 50 are to leave your legacy"; "Do something that scares you every day!"; "The journey in between what you once were and who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place". At age 62 I find myself fighting inoperable uterine Cancer and thanks to the man upstairs and the prayers from so many people including many of my readers from AskMarion and JustOneMorePet... I'm beating it. After losing our business because of the economy and factors related to the re-election of President Obama in 2012 followed by 16-mos of job hunting, my architect-trained husband is working as a trucker and has only been home approximately 5-days a month since I was diagnosed, which has made everything more difficult and often lonely... plus funds are tight. Our family medical deductible is 12K per year for two of us; thank you ObamaCare. But thanks to donations from so many of you, we are making ends meet as I go through treatment while taking care of my father-in-law who is suffering from late stage Alzheimer's and my mother-in-law who suffers from RA and onset dementia as well as hearing loss, for which there are no caretaker funds, as I continue the fight here online to inform and help restore our amazing country. And finally I need to thank a core group of family, friends, and readers... all at a distance, who check in with me regularly. Plus, I must thank my furkids who have not left my side through this fight. You can see them at JustOneMorePet.
