By Reinhard Vint – GunNews.com: We keep hearing from the Commander-in-Chief just how wonderful life has become in Australia, since the Constitutional Monarchy has forced the citizens to surrender their firearms. Wow! I wonder what they have been doing that the United States has not to make that country so crime free? The president at a recent conference and other events has been announcing that, since Australia has taken their citizens’ basic God-given right to defend themselves from attack, they have become much safer without evil firearms everywhere. He is very outspoken on the fact that the crime rate is much lower than it had been before the gun grab.

The president stated, “We are the only developed country on earth where this happens, and it happens now once a week, and there is no place else where this happens.” He then went on to recant the mass shooting in Australia, two decades ago, “…and the government said that’s it, we are not seeing that again, and enacted very strict gun laws, and they have not had a mass shooting since.” He makes reference to our Second Amendment and the fact that we have historically respected gun rights as a different tradition (instead of a constitutional right). Okay, let’s take a moment and walk through some facts. First off, let’s see just what Australia is all about and if we can compare the U.S. to them. Australia is a continent with a land mass of about 3,310,000 sq miles, while North America has a mass of about 9,540,000 sq miles. There is only a difference there of 6,230,000 sq miles. So, you could almost put three Australian continents in North America. I guess we are much larger. Hmmm… I bet there is a huge difference in population between the U.S. and Australia with so much more land mass here in the U.S.

Australia has a population of 23,523,622, while the U.S. is currently around 311.600,000. Oh gosh, that means we only have 288,076,378 more people than Australia. Think about it. Have you ever been told your chances of winning the jackpot in the lottery are less likely than getting hit by lightning? Those are some pretty unbeatable odds. So, looking at population numbers here, one might say there is 288,076,378 more chances of an act of violence here in the U.S. than there would be in Australia. I am not even going to mention the 11,000,000 third-world, undocumented aliens on U.S. soil that the media is constantly going on about. We do not need to worry about them, as they commit no crimes, right?

Well, I did some digging around and found that the Australian Bureau of Statistics listed this: The rate of reporting face-to-face threatened assault to police was higher in the 2012-13 survey (37%) compared to 2008-09 (30%). Gee, folks, it seems like since the gun confiscation, the crime rate (specially assaults) just keeps climbing out of control. Is this not another fact proven by a country who has disarmed its citizens that gun control does not work? Maybe our government does not know these statistics? That must be it, or why would they keep trying to push policies against us that violate our constitution and put the average citizen in harm’s way?

I know why. It’s because if they take all of our guns, we will not have to worry about the lawless criminals out there, as they will surely comply with the law too, and nobody will have guns to commit violence. Sure, and of course, you can not commit an act of violence without a gun. Not to mention possibly defending yourself to ward off an attack. Folks, please. Some of us lowly serfs can read and think. Do some homework, at least, and come up with an acceptable answer to violence. Stop with the pacifier gun laws, and you just may gain some public support to help with the problem. I would like to know what idiot puts these ideas in the lefties’ heads and how they become convinced that it is a good platform to stand on. I know they are not writing any speeches for me. As my daughter often says, “I guess haters gonna hate.” Teenagers…so silly. Just keep the faith, people, as better times are on the way.

Obama Suggests US Needs Ban On Semiautomatic, Automatic Weapons

President Barack Obama Tuesday suggested that the U.S. government should follow Australia’s example in dealing with shooting sprees, which involved strict gun bans on semiautomatic and automatic weapons.

“Australia had a mass shooting [in 1996] similar to Columbine and Newtown, and just said, ‘That’s it, we’re not seeing that again,’ and basically imposed very severe tough gun laws and they haven’t had a mass shooting since,” Obama said, after he was asked for his reaction to recent shooting episodes in California and Oregon. Those laws included the confiscation of nearly all handguns and rifles.

“We can have respect for the Second Amendment and responsible hunters and sportsmen can have possess weapons,” Obama told an audience of students during a broadcast on the Tumblr website.
