CPAC 2014 is a Wrap

CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Committee, just wrapped up their 2014 event with a rousing energetic speech by Sarah Palin.  Sarah  electrified the room and from the tweets and calls I’ve received she invigorated and inspired those at home that watched.  And although delivering the Keynote address in the clean-up spot, that Sarah delivered (again) is certainly an honor, but puts you behind for placement in the straw poll because many of the new young attendees have not heard her speak, not that Palin cares,  She recently topped a poll of potential GOP primary voters.

Palin delivered an entertaining but hard-hitting speech to a packed house. Her remarks were met with applause, cheering, laughter and quite a few standing ovations. Palin was, as usual, on the top of her game. She brought Conservatives to their feet and reminded people that if they want a fighter who speaks the truth in plain language and will bring them real change… plus can beat both Hillary as well as the carrot of electing ‘the first female president’ then Sarah Palin is their candidate… the logical person to run against and beat another women, Hillary.  It would be the fight of the century and first election of real choice in decades!

But before she had even finished her speech that inspired the CPAC crowd as well as all the patriots in the TV and online audience who really want change and want to save America, the leftist pundits were busy spinning their anti-Palin web, including Doug Schoen on Fox who was egged on by the host of America’s News.  Some strong conservatives would say that CPAC was co-opted this year by the more mainstream GOPers, but you have to wonder at Fox.

America, patriots… when the left tries this hard to diminish someone, it is out of fear, and that is who you should be following!

It is that same stinkin thinkin that even the leadership at CPAC can’t get past.  There is nobody who lit up the room like Sarah Palin this weekend, yet they tend of avoid using her name through out the weekend, and although giving the closing keynote speech is an honor on the one hand, plus non of the rest of the speakers want to have to follow her, they somewhat purposely keep her for last to hinder her in the CPAC poll voting results, not that the results were bad this this year.

2014 CPAC poll results:  #1 Rand Paul, #2 Ted Cruz and #3 Ben Carson… All good choices, yet nobody invigorated that room like Sarah!  And nobody will answer the ‘electing the first female president’ carrot that will be at the center of the 2016 Election, if Hillary runs, like Sarah Palin can and will.  And it will matter and be factor in 2016 as was electing the 1st Black president was in 2008.  And when you look at Ted Cruz’s place in that poll, especially after listening to the panel on American population and demographics… a Palin-Cruz 2016 GOP ticket is the answer!

Breitbart.com featured a great piece this past week: Sarah Palin: Ted Cruz, Rand Paul Top My 2016 List that was much in line with a piece on HotAir from August 2013: The great experiment. Time for Cruz, King or Palin in 2016

One of the surprising highlights at Saturday’s event was Democrat Pat Caddell, mentioning the Mr. Smith Project, after saying he never expected to be the opening act for Sarah Palin.  He referred to the two parties as the Corrupt Party and the Stupid Party and warned that a Revolution was on the Horizon. Pat Caddell, a former adviser to President Jimmy Carter and a Fox News political analyst, said there will be a wave of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” candidates who get elected running against the permanent political class and career politicians.  He also predicted that if the GOP does not find their courage and stand up for the principles of their base that they will go the way of the Whig Party.

Cliff May, President of the Foundation for Defense to Democracies began his talk as part of the panel on the Ukraine – Is Ukraine’s Future East or West?   with (paraphrased), “I want to compliment Sarah Palin.  She really could see Russia from her house and she saw Russia and Putin better than two sitting presidents.

Better than Bush who claimed he looked into Putin’s eyes and saw into his soul… He saw Thomas Jefferson instead of Ivan the Terrible.

Then Obama mistakenly removed the weapons that Putin requested and his the RESET button.  And as we see… Putin laughed at us and has invaded the Ukraine.

There was also a good representation by Millennials at the event, including Evan Feinberg, President of Generation Opportunity, who said there is a war on the youth of America… his generation! Feinberg was on the Healthcare after ObamaCare: A Practical Guide panel.

About Ask Marion

I am a babyboomer and empty nester who savors every moment of my past and believes that it is the responsibility of each of us in my generation and Americans in general to make sure that America is as good or even a better place for future generations as it was for us. So far... we haven't done very well!! Favorite Quotes: "The first 50 years are to build and acquire; the second 50 are to leave your legacy"; "Do something that scares you every day!"; "The journey in between what you once were and who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place". At age 62 I find myself fighting inoperable uterine Cancer and thanks to the man upstairs and the prayers from so many people including many of my readers from AskMarion and JustOneMorePet... I'm beating it. After losing our business because of the economy and factors related to the re-election of President Obama in 2012 followed by 16-mos of job hunting, my architect-trained husband is working as a trucker and has only been home approximately 5-days a month since I was diagnosed, which has made everything more difficult and often lonely... plus funds are tight. Our family medical deductible is 12K per year for two of us; thank you ObamaCare. But thanks to donations from so many of you, we are making ends meet as I go through treatment while taking care of my father-in-law who is suffering from late stage Alzheimer's and my mother-in-law who suffers from RA and onset dementia as well as hearing loss, for which there are no caretaker funds, as I continue the fight here online to inform and help restore our amazing country. And finally I need to thank a core group of family, friends, and readers... all at a distance, who check in with me regularly. Plus, I must thank my furkids who have not left my side through this fight. You can see them at JustOneMorePet.
