CPAC 2014 Begins With a Bang and Will End With a Bang

Palin-Cruz 2016: Yesterday, Thursday 03.06.14, was a banner day for attendees and observers of perhaps the first leg of the 2016 GOP horserace at CPAC, as possibly six rumored presidential candidates addressed the attendees. But one of the most notable observations might be the placement of a couple speakers that definitely are contenders for 2016:  Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and former Governor of Alaska and the GOP’s only female VP and presidential ticket candidate, Sarah Palin. Whether it was a scheduling necessity or a deliberate strategy, the decision to have Ted Cruz kick off the festivities and to have Sarah Palin close the event out on Saturday appears to be more than coincidental. For many who have thought this through, this might be providential, and should definitely trigger some thought.

The most logical and best ticket for the GOP in 2016 is Palin-Cruz, because the Progressive Democrat Party intends to run Hillary Clinton no matter what is in her background, no matter how many lies she has told and no matter how many scandals she has been involved in… giving them the carrot for 2016 of electing the first female president, and unless the GOP run the toughest, already tested and vetted woman with experience and charisma who relates with the folks, average Americans, because she is one… Palin, the Dems will win just like they did using the carrot of electing the first black president.  Add to that virtually any of the men who spoke on Thursday at CPAC, or many still to come, and you have a winning ticket.  But when you watch the reaction and reception for Ted Cruz virtually everywhere he goes, except in Washington D.C. and add the his Cuban heritage as well as his understanding of the immigrant experience through his father as well as he and Palin being friends and simpatico politically you have a real winner for the GOP and for America and her people!  In his CPAC introduction of Sarah Palin in 2013, Ted Cruz credited his election to Sarah Palin, as do many she has endorsed and fought for.

The often slow arrivers and sometimes CPAC crowd dawdlers were in place early to see the junior Senator from Texas, who was a big draw and channeled Ronald Reagan in his speech. The off-the-cuff ten point conservative plan Cruz outlined was jam-packed with red meat and energized the audience as will Sarah Palin’s speech certainly be on Sunday:

Both Palin and Cruz are rising in the polls across the board, including with MillennialsRed State Rising offered the following perspective from a Red State Millennial at CPAC:

Red Millennial and Red Nation Rising social media and website contributor Seth Connell (@theRealConnells <– Follow!) presents this interactive report from the first day of the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Day Won ;)

The first day of CPAC 2014 featured a great amount of presentations and information, chock full of ideas, motivation, and spirit from the entire spectrum of our Red Nation Rising of Centrists, Conservatives and Libertarians uniting to the right.  It was highly entertaining to a crowd of younger and older people who care about the civics and US Constitution.

Immensely popular “Tea Party Conservative” Senator Ted Cruz impersonated Talk Show Legend Jay Leno while “Establishment” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell invoked Charlton Heston heroically holding a rifle over his head (which turned out to be the NRA Lifetime Achievement Award for Sen. Tom Coburn).

That bookend made for a winningly memorable, good time.

The Cruz Missal

Day One started with inspirational Senator Ted Cruz, despite the purple tie, speaking on how WE must work to inspire Americans.  It was a recurring theme.

Throughout the day, many speakers hit the idea of an American populace looking for inspiration.  Well, Cruz inspires EVERYONE who cares to listen to his words.

Here are ten ways Ted Cruz recommended we, the grassroots people, inspire our brothers and sisters this upcoming election:

  1. Defend the Constitution
  2. Abolish the IRS (flat or fair tax)
  3. Expand energy, make high paying jobs
  4. Expand school choice
  5. Repeal Dodd-Frank
  6. Audit the Fed
  7. Pass a strong balanced budget
  8. Repeal every single word of Obamacare
  9. Stop the lawlessness
  10. End the corruption

That’s a great list.  Remember it and please act on it.  How?  Tweet that list and/or Facebook Post it!  Maybe hashtag each one and include #RedNationRising!  That will reach people.

Civil Right Rejoicing In School Choice for Kids

Of course, there were a lot of speakers and topics and “school choice” was another theme with many of the men and women in attendance.

School choice is a civil rights issue.  It is one of the greatest civil rights issues of our time.  Little kids, America’s children, are being punished by union thugs.  The unions force politicians to oppose school choice programs.

Union members vote.  They coerce, they bribe or they threaten local politicians with the scarlet letter.  It’s discriminatory.  As we we buckle up for the November 2014 elections, school choice will be a front page issue.

Dolla, Dolla

I also had the opportunity to sit in on one of the panels discussing monetary policy.  The economy is — and SHOULD BE — our foremost pressing concern when good, decent Americans, young and old, are suffering.

As a Red Millennial, I believe we must focus on the economic and monetary policies regarding the Federal Reserve.  I know I am not alone.

Many Americans don’t know, but the Federal Reserve manipulates our money supply constantly for their own gain at OUR expense.  It is exactly that crony capitalism and corporatism of the Blue Dems and RINOs our generation is rejecting.

Bitcoin Breakout

One currency which could crumble the Fed’s power is Bitcoin.   What is Bitcoin?  It’s not very complex, but the idea is brilliant.  Transparency is its security. Bitcoin is an online currency not owned by an individual, organization, corporation etc.

Individuals own Bitcoin, and the value cannot be manipulated. If Bitcoin is worth more than the U.S. Dollar, we may just find more people using Bitcoin in future transactions in our economy.

More Than 140 Characters?!

I also had the opportunity to attend a Blogger Briefing with Senator Cruz.  While last year Ted Cruz remarked Twitter was a powerful tool, he made it clear that bloggers play a vital role in today’s world.

True Story: Ted Cruz launched his Senate campaign through online blogs.  This was before any major news network caught wind of the story.  His campaign was purely grassroots. Bloggers make a difference!

Now go Tweet that!  Because, Twitter is a VERY powerful tool.

Keep Rising

We are a Red Nation Rising of Red Millennials and we are uniting.  We are a Red Nation Rising of Centrists, Conservatives and Libertarians of all ages.  Civics and Constitutionalism is our mission.  Keep it up!

We will add additional thoughts and Palin’s speech on Saturday.  Palin always steals the show and they generally save her for last because nobody wants to follow her… that alone should remind us of Palin’s ability to work a room and mesmerize a crowd!  And absolute must for the campaign trail, and you can bet that Hillary does not draw the crowds that Sarah Palin does!

About Ask Marion

I am a babyboomer and empty nester who savors every moment of my past and believes that it is the responsibility of each of us in my generation and Americans in general to make sure that America is as good or even a better place for future generations as it was for us. So far... we haven't done very well!! Favorite Quotes: "The first 50 years are to build and acquire; the second 50 are to leave your legacy"; "Do something that scares you every day!"; "The journey in between what you once were and who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place". At age 62 I find myself fighting inoperable uterine Cancer and thanks to the man upstairs and the prayers from so many people including many of my readers from AskMarion and JustOneMorePet... I'm beating it. After losing our business because of the economy and factors related to the re-election of President Obama in 2012 followed by 16-mos of job hunting, my architect-trained husband is working as a trucker and has only been home approximately 5-days a month since I was diagnosed, which has made everything more difficult and often lonely... plus funds are tight. Our family medical deductible is 12K per year for two of us; thank you ObamaCare. But thanks to donations from so many of you, we are making ends meet as I go through treatment while taking care of my father-in-law who is suffering from late stage Alzheimer's and my mother-in-law who suffers from RA and onset dementia as well as hearing loss, for which there are no caretaker funds, as I continue the fight here online to inform and help restore our amazing country. And finally I need to thank a core group of family, friends, and readers... all at a distance, who check in with me regularly. Plus, I must thank my furkids who have not left my side through this fight. You can see them at JustOneMorePet.
