Real-estate mogul tears into GOP, policy on economy, illegals
WND: WASHINGTON – “Our country is in very, very serious trouble,” Donald Trump told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington, D.C. today.
“Likewise, the Republican Party is in serious trouble,” he added.
The outspoken real-estate mogul ticked off a list of concerns: The economy, illegal aliens, American Crossroads, Republicans and in particular the Obama administration.
“We’re run by either very foolish or very stupid people,” he said in his speech. “What’s going on in this country is unbelievable. Our country is a total mess, a total and complete mess, and what we need is leadership.”
Trump blasted the Karl Rove-founded super PAC American Crossroads and the failure of the candidates it backed last year.
“When you spend $400 million and it’s a failure, and you don’t have one victory, you know there’s something seriously, seriously wrong,” he said.
Trump also had some advice for failed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. He said Romney should have, like him, touted his business success.
“Republicans and Mitt, and I told him this, didn’t talk enough about the things he did, the great things,” he said. “They were in the defensive instead of taking that offense.”
He also strongly warned the GOP that “the Republicans need to be very careful” the don’t grant amnesty and subsequent citizenship to the 10 million to 25 million illegal aliens residing in the United States.
Millions of new Democratic voters will be added to the rolls if President Obama succeeds in passing proposed immigration reform, Trump said.
“The truth is 11 million people will be voting Democratic,” he somberly informed the crowd. “Everyone of those 11 million will be voting Democratic. That’s just the way it works.”
Trump criticized the anti-European bias in the immigration system, which favors people from Mexico.
Trump said it is sad that the U.S. system encourages non-European immigration while discouraging European immigrants who “study at our universities” and then upon graduation leave and take their training to other nations “that compete against us.”
Washington Times: CPAC 2013: Donald Trump: Immigration reform is a ‘suicide mission’ for GOP
Donald Trump said the Republican party will lose elections if it reforms the nation’s entitlement programs and will hand Democrats 11 million votes if Congress grants citizenship to illegal immigrants, likening the reform efforts to a “suicide mission.”Mr. Trump also said that the United States should “take” $1.5 trillion worth of oil from Iraq to pay for the cost of the war and give $1 million to each of the families that lost someone in the effort — sparking applause from the thousands gathered Friday for the American Conservative Union’s 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
“As Republicans, if you think you are going to change very substantially for the worse Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security in any substantial way, and at the same time you think you are going to win elections, it just really is not going to happen,” Mr. Trump said, adding that polls show that tea partyers are among those who don’t want their entitlements changed. “What we have to do and the way we solve our problems it to build a great economy.”
Mr. Trump has been a fierce critic of the Obama administration and established himself as a voice in Republican ranks when he badgered Mr. Obama to release his long-form birth certificate to prove that he was born in the United States. More recently, Mr. Trump has taken aim at the administration’s decision to halt White House tours because of the automatic budget cuts, known as sequesters, that kicked in earlier this month.
Mr. Trump also took aim at Republicans on Friday.
Without naming them, Mr. Trump criticized GOP consultant Karl Rove from not getting a better return on the hundreds of millions of dollars he invested in the 2012 campaign, and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal for urging the GOP to “stop being the stupid party” after the election.
“What a horrible statement,” he said.
“The Donald” also weighed into the thorny issue of immigration.
“The fact is 11 million people will be voting Democratic. You can be out front. You can be the spearhead. You can do whatever you want to do, but everyone of those 11 million people will be voting Democratic,” he said. “It is just the way it works.”
“You have to be very, very careful, because you could say that to a certain extent the odds aren’t looking so great for Republicans, that you are on a suicide mission,” he said. “You are just not going to get those votes.”
Trump also spoke about the economy, calling for the re-industrialization of the U.S.
“We must take back our jobs from China” and “bring back manufacturing to this country,” he said.
Trump spoke highly of the proposal by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to balance the federal budget in 10 years.
But he said, “The president should be the one to introduce a budget.”
Trump called looming debate on the debt ceiling “a very powerful weapon” that Obama “will override” through federal mandate.
He additionally chastised the Republican Party, saying it has “so much power and they don’t seem to realize it.”
He said with “every day that goes by they lose power” and the GOP should use the debt ceiling as a “bargaining tool.”
Trump also criticized the war in Iraq, lamenting the high loss of life and the financial burden, saying “we have nothing” as a result of the nine-year-long war.
He said America should take Iraqi oil to “pay ourselves back.”
He also criticized America’s hostile engagement with North Korea, asserting that the current policy “gains us nothing.”

Comments:
We The People California’s Crusader: This is what we have been saying for the past 4 months (see attached). Donald Trump and most good Americans get this; its common sense. Mass Amnesty for 12-25 million illegal aliens will be the end of the Republican Party, the conservative movement, and our Constitutional Republic. But John Boehner and Kevin McCarthy have apparently made a secret deal with Barack Obama to ram through their amnesty bill next month without debate, just like Pelosi did in 2010 with ObamaCare. They are squashing any hearings and testimony about the ill effects of instantly legalizing millions of unknown illegal aliens. It is time to pressure your Congressman to rise up and demand full hearings and debates before any immigration bills are voted on in the House. Visit your Congressman’s local office now and when he is back on Easter break. Attend any TownHall meetings and demand that he or she represent American citizens’ and workers’ interests first!
