Yes, the mainstream media, in this case ABC “News” cannot do enough, quickly enough to destroy whatever independence, sovereignty and freedom we still have left. Now American Flag lapel pins are banned.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there was a report that ABC News asked its on-air reporters not to wear American flag pins or red, what and blue ribbons. Some pointed out at that time that ABC seemed to have been singled out a, for what some said had previously been a standing policy by some news networks of no flag pins or patriotic displays. However that is questionable too, for Brit Hume has worn flag pins on air at CBS, NBC, CNN and FOX.
ABC seemed to loosen it’s policy for awhile as the wave of patriotism swept the nation after 9/11 but last week they reinstated their policy which is in line with the White House, to ban American Flag Lapel Pins for journalists. The tenth anniversary of 9/11 seems an odd time to reinstate this policy?!? (Obama wears one now again when he feels looking patriotic is to his advantage. You’ll see it a lot more as candidate Obama is out on the campaign trail.)

Associated Press writer David Bauder quoted Barbara Walters as saying that ABC discouraged its reporters from wearing the flag because “…it may confuse the audience.” She was also quoted as saying that there was concern whether someone who decided not to wear a flag in the midst of all the others might be viewed as less patriotic.

People just don’t know how to connect the dots. Disney has products made in China.. go figure… The more the public is educated on these matters perhaps the more they will learn. If ABC and its affiliates are not allowed to Display a patriotic pin… perhaps we should boycott their News teams at all local levels and KEEP them OUT of breaking news stories and commenting on the war.. etc. What if a serviceman/women refused to wear the uniform… they would be jailed. It would be interesting to see if anyone in the audience of an ABC event or a Political Fundraiser is wearing a flag pin….We have lost our identity.

I can’t believe that sponsors are not pulling out.. guess they are also sponsoring obama. By the way I am a baby boomer, dissabled Vietnam Vet and yes a Democrat, Capitolist, and Patrotoc American that loves this country and sick and tired of being called unpatrotic,socialiast, commie and worse just because I don’t agree with the right on some political issues. Since when is wearing a pin bearing the flag of one’s country supporting a cause? Or for that matter a military Veteran wearing the pin of the branch of service he or she served in a cause? I wear pins that say my grandson is in the Air Force and one that says my Grandson is a Marine. I do this out of pride not to support a cause. I do supprt the cause of not warching ABC until they change a stupidly motivated policy. I just finished programming my remote to exclude ABC.

I agree with Donna. Let these people go to another country, if ABC don’t want the reporters to wear patriotic lapel pins shame on them. This country was founded on freedom of expression, Obama and these people need to leave, they are trying to take peoples right to wear or say what they believe in. I imagine if it was for a Muslim cause it would be highly supported by Obama and ABC. Their is nothing wrong with supporting our troops and being proud of them. Again, shame on Obama and ABC.
