ABC News has reported on a family in Charlottesville, Virginia that boasts an amazing six living generations of daughters. The eldest is 111-year-old Mollie Wood (born 1901) and the youngest is 7-week-old Braylin Higgins (born 2012). Photographer and neighbor Christian DeBaun saw the opportunity to capture some amazing portraits of the family.

When asked the secret to the family’s longevity?
“We’re ornery,” laughed 39-year-old Marlo Shifflett. “I think that’s a lot of it. We’re too ornery to stop!”
But there might be another magic ingredient as well – resilience. Marlo added that Savannah has not asked for one bit of help with her little one. Despite the strong family ties, “We are very independent”.
