Morgan Freeman offered sage advice to University of California, Los Angeles (my alma mater), students Tuesday, March 7th, as he accepted the university’s Spencer Tracy Award for outstanding screen performances.
"Once you’ve gotten the job, there’s nothing to it," said Freeman, 68. "If you’re an actor, you’re an actor. Doing it is not the hard part. The hard part is getting to do it."
Morgan Freeman received UCLA’s Spencer Tracy Award
which recognizes outstanding screen performances and professional achievement.
"It was said that Spencer Tracy’s natural style set him apart from actors of his time and set performance standards for future generations," Jason Kaminsky (UCLA campus events commissioner) said. "We think that the same can be said for the acting of Mr. Freeman."
Previous Tracy Award recipients include Jimmy Stewart, Michael Douglas, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks and Anthony Hopkins.
